Oliver Stone is making a movie about President Bush. He promises a “fair, true portrait of the man.” It sure sounds that way! --
‘’Bush may turn out to be the worst president in history,’’ he declares. . . . ‘’I think history is going to be very tough on him. But that doesn’t mean he isn’t a great story. It’s almost Capra-esque, the story of a guy who had very limited talents in life, except for the ability to sell himself. The fact that he had to overcome the shadow of his father and the weight of his family name — you have to admire his tenacity. There’s almost an Andy Griffith quality to him, from ‘A Face in the Crowd’*. . . .”
Now, a fair and true portrait of a child molester would have to point out that he is, well, a child molester. So, if in fact Bush is an untalented loser and complete fraud, a fair and true portrait would depict him as such. But that’s sort of begging the question, isn’t it?

* In case you haven’t seen “A Face in the Crowd,” here’s the IMDB summary: “An Arkansas hobo becomes an overnight media sensation. But as he becomes drunk with fame and power, will he ever be exposed as the fraud he has become?”

Weird. Thought I corrected #. 202-224-3121, but you probably know that already if you have read this far.
Lincoln Chafee was recently interviewed on thepeoplespeakradio (interview archived)and said Bush is the worst president ever and he is a former republican senator. I don’t need a film, I watch C-span and stay away from the mainstream media, but it will help educate some. Most of us aware of the crimes.
Call John Conyers, the chair of the Judiciary Committee if you are interested in seeing him put impeachment on the table, but you will get a “Call Nancy Pelosi, no one against impeachment here.” 202-334-3121 for all of congress.
Was it Napoleon who said History is a fable agreed upon.
I am sure he paraphrased someone else.
I would not be surprised if a few hundred years from now, everyone agreed that the telephone company killed Kennedy.
Of course, the real question is why everyone is waiting around for Bush to leave office. IMPEACH NOW!

Greens: 2008 is Congress’s last chance to assert the rule of law and impeach Bush and Cheney for high crimes and abuses of power
The two previous posts say it all.
Bush will turn out to be one of those presidents who was right but will never get serious credit in his lifetime. The shallow clowns and smart asses who made millions mocking him to the delight of easily distracted and amused simpletons… while offering no serious alternatives… will eventually find themselves in an even worse position. History is a cruel and heartless bitch like that.
“Put up or shut up” wasn’t coined by people just because they were bored.
I know how this will turn out because it’s turned out the same way a hundred times before. The drawback will be those in the future who will pay so dearly because many in the present lacked the seriousness and intelligence to understand the long term ramifications of their unwillingness to stand like men.
If Bush never promised us a rose garden does that make him a fraud ? Uh maybe.
I’m not sure Oliver Stone is the director I would call the most unbiased in Hollywood, plus his films are uneven, artsy in a “bad” way at times, a bit out there in left field.
Stone might be on to something. Or he might be the very caricature himself of the Hollywood liberal you guys love to hate. All the same, Stone’s comments capture some of the frustration Bush deniers feel.
Historians are sure to have a field day with this era we now live in.
You do know you are living through an interesting period of history.
I’m preparing my own authorized autobiography, “Memoirs of a Bacon Biscuit” for sale at all fine Walmarts everywhere in the bargain bin.
The problem with both movie producers and historians is their effeteness. They don’t change history, or even write history, they just quibble over it long after it would have made any difference in the greater scheme of things, with that 20-20 vision of hindsight.
I knew that Bush was a loser from time he stole the 2000 election. No one liked him from bribing the Supreme Court to give him win. Imagine picking on poor folks who cann’t punch a hole in card. Mr. Gore is’n better President--a poor boy who raised himself to bootstrops laureate. Them arabs should be left alone, freedom of religion.
