A friend writes that Deeds should have beat McDonnell four years ago, but didn’t because he’s a lousy candidate, which he just proved again. This prompts a random thought: Does anybody do fantasy political leagues? Could they? What would a race between George Allen and Tim Kaine look like? Or a McDonnell-Mark Warner contest, or a Gilmore-McAuliffe bout?

(I’m not the first person to trip over the notion . . .)
