Toggle between WRVA (Jimmy Barrett, Glenn Beck, etc.) and Democracy Now (97.3 on your FM dial), where the morning newscast refers to “the so-called war on terror,“ “so-called anti-Americanism abroad,“ and (my personal fave) “the Iraqi resistance.“

I think the reference to whiplash more than makes Herr Hinkles point.
Coming soon to an enlightened multicultural country in decline near you…

I just hope that, having spent so much effort preserving the Second Amendment, that we actually have the courage to use it.
If your point is that talk radio contains way, way too many nutty ideas I could not agree more. If your point instead is that conservative ideas are all sober and sane and that liberal ideas are all extreme and frivolous, I say, oh c’mon Bart. I choose to believe only the former, that you are innocent of all charges of partisan politicing or lib bashing. You are innocently pointing out how nutty talk radio is.
( More serious attacks on WaPo and NYT notwithstanding and judged on differing criteria )
I do listen to Glenn Beck at times. I find him curmudgeonly, sometimes ok, mostly not to my taste. Too noisy and nasty.
I also heard something funny on O’Reilly recently. He was interviewing a woman who wrote a book having something to do with families having financial difficulties in today’s economy. I have no idea exactly what the book was about. Who reads all these books ? Does anyone read this stuff ?
His advice to her was to shop at Walmart and Costco. That was funny. If you are having difficulty right now filling your gas tank or paying your mortgage O’Reilly has a solution to your woes.
Shop at Walmart. (funny) You don’t have a problem. You just don’t shop right. If you shopped at the right place you wouldn’t have a problem.
I highly recommend NPR, 88.9, WCVE. Very little nuttiness. Some depth. Never enough. Possibly too much liberal philosophy, but to a conservative, seemingly impossible to be “too” conservative. Not CSPAN, still boring at times (so channel surf). Erudite. If you find that word objectionable, go back to Glenn Beck.
My surprise find is Jon Stewart. Yes it is only comedy. Yes it gets silly. Yes it is grossly and objectionably political. It is funny. Colbert can be dull and tedious but Stewart is actually funny. Who knew politics could be funny.
He likes to mock cable news. Talk radio is only the tip of the media iceberg. There is so dang much silliness out there it is impossible to plumb the dark and murky depths of the Media Loch. Impossible to be “too” conservative.
Thank God Hillary has dropped out. I could not stand another few weeks of political commentators having absolutely nothing to say about non-events. Now we get to see Obama and McCain grin like Cheshire cats and say nothing too. At least this time it will be for the money.
That at least gives it a little imaginary gravitas.
Radio Habana Cuba, 6000 kHz, 6060 kHz and 6180 kHz on any given night*, calls it “The War of Aggression in Iraq”.
* This station actually has a stronger signal here than does WRVA, WLEE, etc. Tune it in one night for great fun & entertainment.
Wow….Bill Moyers…the Jena gang beat down supporters…Bill Moyers…Medgar Evers…Bill Moyers…Mai Lai massecre…Bill Moyers…Winter Soldier version 16.0…
How much money does Soros have anyway?
NPR better watch out.
