If Pressed, They Can Also Explain That African-Americans Are Not Really “Mud People”

The Washington Post reports that under a last-minute change to new lessons in Montgomery County, Maryland:

sex education teachers would be allowed to tell students who ask that homosexuality is not a mental illness.

(What! Does this mean no electroshock treatments?!)

Reader Comments:

School system/colleges are politically correct institutions. Which one would openingly address homosexuality in an objective way? Why subject the organization to media harrassment and lawsuits?

Unfortunately the result is that abnormal behavior is treated and glorified as normal? Homosexuality has no purpose in nature. It is not routine sexual behavior among consenting adults. Homosexuality is an aberration, period.

Should all homosexuals be shot at dawn-NO! But please lets call a spade a spade instead of making it out to be a diamond. Of course it is a mental illness. Of course no one wants their child to become one. Of course any group practicing anti-society/abnormal behavior should not be allowed to adopt children or marry. How dumbed-down does American society have to get before common sense kicks in?

I know some law inforcement officers who are drunks too.

Dont confuse humor with fact or reality.

There are many homosexuals who want out.

You can ignore them if you want.
You can laugh if you want, but they still exist and they are suffering.

Just like there are many adult abortion survivors who are missing arms, eyes and body parts from botched abortions.
You dont see them on CNN because they are proof of an ugly side of American culture that liberals dont want to admit to themselves it exists.
I guess you could make a joke about that too, in order to fool yourselves into denial.

The churchs dont seek gays who want help!

They seek the church because there is no where else to go for help.

Its nothing really to joke about.

Ed, you’re post was humorous to read. I can tell you something I know for a fact: Some red-neck appearing people who rail against gays and minorities are themselves gay. Its like a split-personality thing…I am very serious. These people have families; children too. I’d like to go into details but cannot pull myself to cause anyone public embarrassment, but I will say that one was a longtime local-area law enforcement official.

Help, Ed, I’m surrounded by them! In fact, I think I am one. Uh-oh.

I wish to warn one and all of the disease of “conventionality”.

You can spot them almost anywhere in Virginia. They look normal. They wear ball caps. They talk about sports and their work or their dog Bigglesford.

They tend to form perverse and unnatural relationships called “marriage” with “partners”. Often do not work out. They do it anyway. Gluttons for punishment.

They think Ghandhi was the guy who fixed their cable antenna, and Bin Laden was Saddam’s brother. 30% of them think space aliens ate their children. They eat hot dogs and hamburgers and have nothing on their minds.  Drink beer out of a can or a bottle.  Many cans. Many bottles.

Find these people and get them to re-education camps. The disease of “conventionality” comes from a genetic disorder known as dumb parents. Really stupid siblings is a related condition, unfortunately incurable, as many of us can attest.

There is no known cure. With a great deal of love and affection from the rest of us they have been known to lead a halfway normal life and function almost normally. If spotted, report them immediately. Some day they will thank you.

If I have touched just one person by this message my mission is done. I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of support for this important effort, which touchs the lives of each and every Virginian I know.

I don’t care if it’s normal or not….a kid with 3 eyeballs isn’t “normal”. That doesen’t mean they should be clamped in the stocks and pelted with rotten eggs. My beef is the quasi Stalinist jackboot that is brought down on the neck of anyone who dares question the…golly…dare I say…studies? the condition with an objective and open mind. Because the gay lobby is welded to the leftist, crypto Stalinist lobby, that makes them the enemy. That was their choice, not mine. They made me their enemy. I had no beef with them.

Hang Nifong. Stick his pig head on a pole.

Dang..and I was so looking forward to my electroshock treatment…

Well Rick, I suppose that some homosexuals can abstain from their…er…habit (as a result of religious faith) but then again heterosexuals can also abstain. That wouldn’t mean, I don’t think, that the latter are ‘no longer heterosexual.‘

But technically you are correct. Abstinence can be considered a part of treatment, and treatments are used on diseases/disorders/afflictions. And you imply that many go the church voluntarily—for help with this. Ok….

...so the ones who see it as a disease, going to the church voluntarily, do have a disease—because they see it that way. But then the other homosexuals are not suffering from a mental disease—because they are happy and function in life normally.

And so the disease is a perception of one’s own mind.

It can’t be treated because it is not a disease, it a normal state of being, just like male, female. I beg to differ that it is not a birth occurance. Some studies have shown a genetic connection, I wish I had kept the link.

I have not heard the clamor of tens of thousands of gay people wishing help to change themselves. I have heard an upswelling of gays tired of not simply being accepted for who they are.

Why cant it be treated.

If you have people living free from it and a normal lifestyle then something happened to correct the problem.

Lets talk to the ones who have successfully beat the obsession and see what worked for them.

Beside that can you name any other addiction, obsession, or medical problem that we just throw up our hands and say we cant help you because we just dont have any answers to your problem right now?

No!

Thats even more reason to study this problem and find help for these people.
