Media donations to the respective presidential nominees are running 20 to 1 in favor of Obama:

Two-hundred thirty-five journalists donated to Democrats, just 20 gave to Republicans — a margin greater than 10-to-1. An even greater disparity, 20-to-1, exists between the number of journalists who donated to Barack Obama and John McCain.

Searches for other newsroom categories (reporters, correspondents, news editors, anchors, newspaper editors and publishers) produces 311 donors to Democrats to 30 donors to Republicans, a ratio of just over 10-to-1. In terms of money, $279,266 went to Dems, $20,709 to Republicans, a 14-to-1 ratio.

We need more people who can irritate foreign leaders by telling them what they are doing wrong, so they can reflexively and dismissively remind us we are the ones in need of their oil, their tainted products, their beer (fer cryin’ out loud), their condescension, their workers, their intellectual and monetary capital, their propping up our economy, their bad attitudes.  We need them. 

So you see women fainting in the crowds over the sight of Obama, and being conservatives, you handle it with all the grace and class we have come to expect from conservatives. Grumbling and grousing and all manner of ill feelings as you suck down that Belgium import in a drafty Ohio beerpub.

You shout up to the TV, why do they love him so. Aren’t those danged foreigners aware he is Muslim, he has no message, he is the Great Satan, he has no endorsement from Rush Limbaugh or the NASCAR circuit, he wants us to lose, lose, lose, lose at all costs, no experience, can’t they see he’s black ?!?  Are they blind ? What can they possibly see in him that we don’t.

A real leader ? Perish the thought. If he isn’t some mindless puppet of corporate America we don’t want him.

Get an editorial life . You are biased too. As for those great reporters of yours, I have dealt with them a few times in leftist causes. Without exception, they are ill prepared ,overly defensive and arrogant. If you question their Times Dispatch accuracy or give them a complement, you will get an automated answering system.
Media bias. I watch Keith Oberman roast Republicans then flip to Bill O’Liely on Fox so i can see the San francisco values sector. And there is always some racy clips of teen sex scandals, Brittany Spears shots with Bill himself telling you why all those soft porn clips are so bad for you to see. Then they talk about liberal bias forever. Fair and Balanced.
Remember Jeremiah Wright and Fox following him everywhere for a month ? You don’t see them following the good Rev. Hagee, spiritual adviser to John MCCAIN around. Hagee, an extreme homophobe, has stated God caused a hurricane to punish New Orleans because of a Gay Pride parade, supports war in the mid_east to hasten the Second Coming of Jesus. A nukes for Jesus guy.
So what is so great about a homogenous press ? As Larry said, isn’t there something called freedom of the press.

There was a T-D reporter with the title “Special Assignment editor.” This clown stated in print he want to be “imbedded” with the local anti-war organizations. Well, I could have imbedded him in our household’s old doghouse after the dog died. Yeah, right.
Just what every activist wants. A Times Dispatch reporter shadowing you everywhere taking notes. Let’s see. Bob goes to the bathroom. Bob goes to the grocery store. Bob goes to work. Bob goes on date with special assignment editor/moron in the back seat. Bob goes to anti-war planning session. Imbedded reporter falls asleep from boredom.

The funny thing is, (the pink elephant no one mentions) is that the PACs / 501s have kicked in to more or less even the race up in campaign contributions.

The Dems used these unregulated entities to even it up against Bush’s heavy fundraising success during the last elections and now McCain is using it to level up to Obama.

Don’t you like funny money that comes from who knows what source ? I do.
