CEI’s Hans Bader is worked up over comments by a “top Obama adviser,“ Charles Ogletree. I’m not. Sure, Ogletree’s views are so far out on a limb there’s no room left for the caterpillars, but I rather doubt he’s really a “top Obama adviser.“
If you follow the second link in the post, you find that
Ogletree . . . is a member of the Obama campaign’s black advisory council, which also includes Cornel West, who teaches African-American studies at Princeton University. The group formed after Obama skipped a conference on African-American issues in Hampton, Va., to announce his presidential candidacy in Illinois.
Doesn’t sound like a member of the inner circle to me! It sounds more like Obama hastily put together a toothless council to co-opt and thereby silence former and potential critics—critics who insist on being paid deference, perhaps? Fine; if they want their egos stroked, put them on a committee; that will shut them up.
Pretty cagey.

Bob,
Will you join me in leaving this party?
Barack Obama has just told the press that his grandmother has died.
Any last minute jab at Obama is an insult at his dear grandmother. Any vote tomorrow for McCain is a vote against his grandmother. So have a little class, folks. Let’s all get together and do the right thing during his time of grief. Vote Obama tomorrow. Or you don’t have a heart.
Ogletree, who depicts America as racist and blames America for 9/11, was described as a “top” Obama adviser by the Washington Examiner on October 31, and as a member of Obama’s “inner circle” by the National Journal on March 31, 2008.
The American Bar Association Journal predicts he will be the civil-rights chief in the Obama administration.
So he may end up as an influential figure in an Obama administration.
Simmer, what evidence do you have that bob lives in the 21st century?
I think it’s pretty obvious that bob is clinging bitterly to the 1960’s…as most lefties do.
It’s like Al Bundy’s famous “four touchdowns in one game” from high school. It’s been down hill ever since.
Who is “CEI”?
Ogletree, the Obama adviser with the bizarre views on race and 9/11, is described as a member of Obama’s “inner circle” by the National Journal, and the likely next civil-rights chief in the Obama administration.
So Ogletree’s strange ideas—such as blaming America for 9/11, saying that America is a racist country, and saying that Obama will only be elected because he is half-white—are highly relevant.
Of course, other things are more relevant—like Obama’s admission to the San Francisco Chronicle on January 17 that his policies will “bankrupt” coal plants (bad for Virginia’s economy) and cause electricity bills to “skyrocket.“
For a good time, an amusing morning, or a Ripley’s-like hard to believe moment—go to any site that has video of Cornel West. His sayings are outrageously funny, untrue, misleading, yet fully believed by the black community. No wonder there is no racial reconciliation or respect. Similar to the views of Michelle, Wright, Sharpton, Farrakan, etc. Remember these are Obama’s advisors.
Not again Bob, your racist comments always destroy genuine dialog on cultural topics. The issue of race in the United States in the 21st Century is not about “one drop” of blood tainting anybody. It is people like you who keep racial tensions high. You inhibit good relations by inferring that someone with one drop of black blood is “tainted. Does that apply to Irish blood?
Most amusing, Powell, that you’re pushing the “one drop” rule, while it works in your candidate’s favor. Personally, I prefer to take race totally out of the equation, but I also disdain anyone who metaphorically writes “can’t we all just get along” on a baseball bat and then proceeds to smack me with it.
I doubt it bob. The most the left can hope to get out of a sweep is 2 years to try and force their social agenda on an electorate that, because the media has finally dissolved into nothing more than a propaganda machine for the party of the State, has no idea what they’re getting.
When it finally dawns on them what has happened…all the race baiting and and needy white leftists calling their betters “racists” isn’t going to help.
You think your on the verge of taking Berlin when, in truth, you’re marching, cocky, arrogant, smug, to the gates of Stalingrad.
