Islamist violence leads to self-censorship: The disaster flick “2012” show the destruction of several iconic Christian structures, but fear of a fatwa led the director to spare showing an Islamic totem, the Kaaba, suffering a similar fate.

Hollywood remains pretty proud of itself for standing up to an ideological bully in the 1950s. Here’s hoping it starts showing some similar gumption now.

I read somewhere about reverse racism being in vogue today with rightwingers. Rush Limbaugh has popularized the thought that racism is omnipresent but against whites.

I prefer hard facts to second guesswork but that’s just me, not anyone else.

The same sort of character that was collaborating with McCarthy then is colaborating with the PC multicultists today.

Just as the same people who were collaborating with George Wallace then are collaborating with the racialist left today.

The faces and the targets change but the fundamental character flaw stays the same. Silence the opposition instead of engaging in debate. Appeal to the lowest most base human instincts…most notably race…and wealth, to divide….spread distrust, sew resentment and fear in pursuit of power.

Same people, different era….same ultimate result.

Once again Bart is showing his ignorance of history. Mainstream Hollywood (yes, I admit that is kind of oxmoronic) ran for cover from McCarthyism. The studios and actors ran from the Hollywood Ten, Big time actors ran away from those who were blacklisted. Producers hired good writers under assumed names for less than market value. Ditto actors. Many writers and actors were forced to live in Europe.
  And of course, the Ronald reagans and John Waynes made names for themselves as patriots.
  Hollywood, with notable exceptions like Lillian Hellman, Ring Lardner, the Hollywood Ten, all but collapsed testifiede and named the names game before Congress.
  Even R. Smith knew that.

I’m not saying they are softballing this thing because of fear of backlash against Muslims but that is a concern being voiced.

For better or worse we live in a multicultural society. I think I heard somewhere there are over 4000 Muslims in the military, some serving very honorably.

So what do you do ?

This is currently playing out in the reporting on the Ft Hood shooter. Here we have a man born and raised in Northern Virginias insular muslim community, educated at Tech (paging Cho?)who enlisted in the army, has never been in combat or even deployed to a war theatre, who goes on a shooting spree while screaming “Alluhah Akbar”....and our brilliant media is blaming it on “Post Traumatic Stress Disorder”.

And they wonder why they are the butt of so many jokes. Even that’s wrong. They ARE the joke.

As we shake in fear of Islam, they get bolder. How many times do muslims have to state that they want to destroy western civilization—before we believe them? Cowering in fear is what Europe did when faced with Hitler, then Stalin. How many lives were lost before we took action?

Even now the US cowers in fear of offending muslim culture, let alone Islam, and those who do us harm. We were tricked into a never-ending war, just like those who went before us. No one wins a war in a muslim country—1. we are afraid to kill anyone and 2. we are afraid to offend anyone and 3. we are in gridlock as a society. The US has forgotten how to win, whether it is in war or economically.

Hollywood didn’t stand up to McCarthy. That’s one of the lefts most persistent myths. A few individuals did, but by and large, Hollywood cow towed until McCarthy self destructed.

Today, Hollywood, and the left in general, mock and ridicule Christians because they know Christians aren’t going to fight back. Anti Christian art, literature and entertainment are staples of what they consider to be edgy and provacative. It’s not. It’s just predictably boring.

This lack of intellectual consistancy has also completely infiltrated the university system. The middle east studies departments of most universities are rife with radical fanatics preaching hatred and justifying violence. The administrators do nothing out of fear they will be called racists. It’s one thing for people to be oppressed, truth to be tortured and death glorified but, being called a racist…now that’s a serious charge in leftworld.

The Princeton press recently censored a book about the Danish cartoons by a respected writer and, I think, a Princeton prof. The author had included pictures of the supposedly offensive cartoons and the university removed them in a humiliating attemt to mollify islamic fanatics and leftist multiculters. I believe the author has cancelled her arrangement with Princeton and will have the book published by a more reputable, less craven and cowardly outfit. I know she let rip on the Princeton publisher. I can’t understand why she didn’t see the censorship coming. She of all people should understand that the university is no place for open debate. Leftism cannot survive in a free and open environment. This is why counter leftist views are always the target of ridicule and speech supression by those who run our universities.

In the end, the simple truth is that the left, be they politicians or entertainers or intellectuals, are basically cowards. The persistant mantra of defending free speech and speaking truth to power is about concealing this cowardice. At the end of the day, when something of value is on the line, the leftist will kneel, run, cower and hide.
