President Obama surfed into the White House on a tidal-surge-sized wave of popularity and support. According to the latest Rasmussen tracking poll, however, it appears that wave might finally have crashed on the shores of reality.

Green Party, preparing for 2009 national meeting, ask: Is America ready for a real opposition party now?

First, people who come to blogs do so because they have an interest in whatever the particular blog deals with. “Unsuspecting” people rarely make it past the Michael Jackson stories on what passes for the Yahoo or Google “news” page.
And Obama will fail….because he’s a quasi intellectual socialist-statist who has comtempt for his own country, an undeserved sense of self importance, no grasp of basic, timeless economic principles or human behavior, no respect for the laws and traditions that made the country he loathes so successful and prosperous. His smug arrogance will be his downfall. (take note)
He ran on conservative principles, played up his supposed respect for the founding fathers and the principles they expoused and pretended to be above partisanship and race baiting. It was all a sales pitch. A lie. Normally the media would expose this but, because the media is now made up of shallow minded adolescents who wanted so badly for a black man to win so they could be “part of history”, his fake persona was allowed to go mostly unchallenged.
So yeah…he IS gonna fail, miserably.
And he’s gonna take the entire democrat party with him. Mark my word.
What’s more, the dems KNOW this is coming. That’s why they’re so desperate to ram so much thru so fast. They know the window is about to shut. Of course, their pushing so much so fast is one of the main reasons they’re losing support so quickly. They’re behaving like pushy used car salesmen.
Ya’d think a super smart Harvard edumacated man would be intelligent enough to grasp this. Maybe he needs to take a few days off so he can trek to Princeton and soak up some of that super brain power that Paul Krugman emits.
Biscuit,
Show me a non-partisan, current-events related blog. I’ve never seen one. And I’ve seen a lot of blogs.
You’ve been around here long enough that you can hardly be considered “unsuspecting.“
I won’t say anything about “normal” or “average”... (insert winky smily here)
I hate to think normal average unsuspecting people log on to blogs and get this intense blast of political partisanship.
I’ll explain. Maybe.
You have polls saying Obama is tanking. You have polls saying Obama is solid. Who to believe. My sincere answer is no one.
Just as Bush knew in advance he would pay a political price for Iraq so too Obama knew full well in advance the weak economy would cause him to take a hit.
It may be worse than you know, and it has absolutely nothing to do with popularity contest polls. Oil prices keep going up. Unemployment has not dropped yet. Credit is still tight.
If you look at the previous few decades the good times were kept alive by easy spending and rising home prices. Even if we could go back to that it would be dumb.
All the pundits including the lib pundits are saying it is typical and almost certain the reps will pick up a few seats in 2010 no matter what Obama does.
You will get your wish. Obama will go down. It’s just a question of will it be natural or by a thousand steely stabs at Caesar by paper cuts.
I’m still waiting for my stimulus check. At least BUSH had the decency to send me one.
Pat Moynihan called it “the leakage of reality from American life.“
I am not giving up. I am going to keep hoping that the people will storm the castle and drive the frog prince back to Hawaii. Where he can loll on the beach and smoke cigarettes and dream his dreams from his father and leave the rest of us to get on with living in the real world.
Let me explain why ‘the waves break’ on these new-guy presidents—Why their approval ratings crash after the election day high:
You see, 2 months after the inaugural, the people who voted for (them) suddenly realize that they
Still have bills to pay
They still live in the same place
Still work on the same job,
Still have the same wife…
...they feel that their guy has let them down royally. Why, I’d me mad too!
Greta, there will be no wave of “common sense” in the US. There is no forum for it nor is there an organized group supporting common sense. The bulk of Americans simply do not care. Where is the outcry?
Nobody needs to consult a poll to know that the “wave has broken.“
What we need now is a tsunami of common sense to flood in and drown all the “progressive” bilge that has been floating around Washington since January.
Remember that Obama Jeep is a Community Organizer, he has never outgrown this experience. All of his programs are designed to assist the poor and racial groups, nothing more and nothing less. His popularity is due to changing demographics in favor of minorities, plus liberal whites. Despite Rasmussen, nothing has changed.
Now that Franken(stein?)‘s victory has enabled Obama Jeep to pass whatever he want, just wait and see what is next. There will be only feeble objections from a few GOPers and people on this blog, but no real opposition. American is changing beliefs, complexion and lowering standards, whether we like it or not.
