In the Mideast, militants do not shrink from blowing up kids if it will help them blow up other innocents:
Maj. Gen. Michael Barbero, deputy director for regional operations in the Joint Staff at the Pentagon, said adults in a vehicle with two children in the backseat were allowed through a Baghdad checkpoint on Sunday.
The adults then parked next to a market in the Adamiya area of Baghdad, abandoned the vehicle and detonated it with the children still inside, according to the general and another defense official.
And if that’s not enough to keep you awake at night, read this.
Excerpt:
[T]FBI is warning local police to be alert for Muslim extremists hijacking school buses. . . .
The FBI and Homeland Security Department last week sent out a bulletin to law enforcement across the country warning that Muslims with ‘ties to extremist groups’ are signing up to be school bus drivers. They also noted ‘recent suspicious activity’ by foreigners who drive school buses or are licensed to drive them.
Recent events come on top of several other school bus-related incidents involving Mideast men that raise suspicion of terror activity.
They include last year’s surprise boarding of a school bus in Florida by two Saudi men dressed in trench coats. Authorities suspect they were making a dry run to see how easy it would be to hijack or blow up a school bus filled with American children.
Previously, an Arab man from Detroit was caught trying to obtain a job as a school bus driver in New York using fake Social Security documents.
Authorities fear the school massacre that took place in Beslan, Russia, in 2004 may be a dress rehearsal for what al-Qaida plans to do here. Chechen terrorists tied to al-Qaida seized a building in Beslan on the first day of school and slaughtered 338, including 172 kids. . . .
It’s a grim picture. But don’t think for a moment that al-Qaida is above targeting school children. Khalid Sheikh Mohammed said in his Gitmo confession that while he may not like killing kids, they’re fair game in jihad. . . .
Are we witnessing with Muslim men trying to obtain bus licenses what some alert (but ignored) agents witnessed before 9/11 when they noticed a number of Muslim men training to obtain pilot’s licenses?

Scott,
She went there to pick a fight, and she got one. I have absolutely no sympathy for her whatsoever.
As for my language describing Israel, your implication that it is offensive is laughable considering you referred to the only free nation in the region as an “apartheid” state.
The difference between my use of that language and yours is that I was being sarcastic, you actually meant it.
Sorry, my link should have been

Sounds like you travel around in what is known as “condition white”.
See: http://www.albany.edu/ssw/projectsafe/awareness.html
Its interesting that the above linked site takes us to a page about how Social Workers can help protect themselves as they go about their daily business out in the community. They give credit to someone named “Remsburg” as having developed the color coded levels of awareness.
I wonder if they don’t know, or deliberately ignored, the fact that those very descriptions are almost verbatim copies of LTC Jeff (‘father’ of the Modern Technique of handgun shooting) Cooper’s “Color Code”, which I believe he adapted from the U.S. Marine Corps?
Somehow I bet a lot of Social Workers would be horrified to find out that’“a gun nut’ had something to do with keeping them safe! LOL
Terrorism will always be with us. If the world has free societies, there will always be a “sicko” who wants to blow up people to achieve a political end. Today those acts are perpetuated by those practicing an evil theology, islam. Aside from the murderers, the co-conspirators are the silent majority of muslims who standby and let it happen.
Iraq is a perfect example. For 4 years the muslims have allow people to desecrate their lands, ruin their infrastructure and kill their citizens. muslims are at fault for the problems in Iraq. The US removed all organized military force preventing them from exercising personal freedom. Plus, gave them money and expertise to build a country. All to no avail because of an evil religion.
Way to pick on a dead girl, R. Smith. Were you not able to find any ants to stomp on this morning? (And what’s with your use of language describing the state of Israel?)
Won’t see this in the newspaper-

Greens condemn Democratic resolution for U.S. troop withdrawal by 2008, calling it a phony antiwar posture to give Democrats an advantage in 2008
*
If Democrats (including MoveOn) really oppose the war, they should demand a cutoff of war funding and the immediate return of all U.S. troops, say Greens.
WASHINGTON, D.C.—Green Party leaders strongly criticized a proposed Democratic resolution in the U.S. calling for withdrawal by September 2008, and demanded that Congress take action to end the U.S. occupation of Iraq with legislation that would effect an immediate withdrawal.
The Green Party of the United States has opposed the U.S. war on Iraq since late 2002, when President Bush announced plans for an invasion, and has called for impeachment of President Bush and Vice President Cheney for a list of high crimes and misdemeanors, including lying to the American people to justify going to war.
Cres Vellucci, member of Veterans For Peace, Vietnam War veteran (military information specialist), and press secretary of the Green Party of California:
“The Democrats’ resolution is piece of phony and meaningless antiwar posturing. By proposing a plan that effectively delays the withdrawal of U.S. troops until September 2008, Democrats are trying to set themselves up as the ‘antiwar party’ in the 2008 election, since it’s obvious that President Bush intends to keep U.S. forces in Iraq throughout 2008 and long after. If Democratic Party leaders really believe the Iraq War is a disaster—as do the Green Party and most Americans—they should support legislation compelling a rapid withdrawal of U.S. forces and reducing war funding to the amount it takes to bring our troops home safe and sound.“
Anthony Gronowicz, Ph.D., 2005 Green Party Candidate for Mayor of New York City:
“MoveOn.org has limited its support to the bill for delayed withdrawal, and has refused to publicize alternative legislation. As the war enters its fifth year, Democratic leaders and their supporters in MoveOn are willing to keep American military personnel in Iraq another 18 months. That means another 18 months of Iraqi civilians, U.S. troops, and U.S. contractors, facing death and injury, so that Democrats can gain a political advantage in the 2008 election.“
Nan Garrett, co-chair of the Green Party’s National Women’s Caucus:
“The fact that Democrats are about to approve another $120 billion for President Bush’s war shows that they’re as ready to indulge the Bush Administration’s imperial designs as they were in October 2002, when many of them voted to surrender Congress’s constitutional war power to the White House. The result has been mass death and mayhem, destruction of Iraq’s infrastructure and civil society, a brutal civil war, empowerment of repressive theocratic movements in Iraq, and rage against the U.S. around the world, especially in Muslim nations. Even worse, if President Bush acts on his threats to attack Iran or Israel launches an assault on Iran with U.S. support, we’ll see a regional war for years to come that’s likely to turn into a global confrontation, possibly nuclear, as Saudi Arabia and other nations are drawn into a wider Sunni-Shiite conflict and powerful countries like Russia and China choose sides. Congress must act as quickly as possible to head off the Bush-Cheney agenda. The first step is to end the occupation of Iraq.“
Rebecca Rotzler, co-chair of the Green Party of the United States, Deputy Mayor of New Paltz, New York and a member of the Green Party’s Peace Action Committee (GPAX):
“Democratic leaders in Congress are using passage of the ‘hydrocarbon law’ in Iraq as a benchmark for withdrawal of U.S. troops. The new law would privatize and allow foreign control over Iraqi oil resources, and would subject Iraq to World Bank and IMF structural adjustment policies that impoverish people while enriching corporations. In other words, Democrats are happy to prolong the war for the very reasons that President Bush launched it in the first place—profits for U.S. oil companies, as well as U.S. political and corporate dominance in the region and the strategic interests of Israel.“
We spoke earlier about Rachael Currie, the radical communist, jihadi collaborater who was smushed under an IDF bulldozer and has since been lionized as a victim of the evil apartheid JEW state of Israel. Well, here she is…

Rick, I’d have to (strongly) agree with you on this. By-and-large, terrorists create themselves. Murderous acts are a manifestation of a deep prejudice previously held inside.
For a person to suggest that “we” created these acts is analagous to saying that the drive for Civil Rights caused the 1963 church bombing in 1963. It would also be the same as saying that someone is justified in blowing-your-head-off because you weren’t driving fast enough in “their” lane.
We are not always right—our country has got many faults—but, really, we are just being us. And we’ve got a perfect right to be us. We don’t deserve to be slaughtered because of it.
Well if the war created terrorist then what created them befor the war?
What triggered Bin Laden?
I mean we have had terrorist as far back as 1970, and thats just my memory.
They probably date back befor then.
I think the statement [the Iraq war is creating more terrorist] is just a silly idea put forward by the anti-war crowd.
The insurgents are trained military of Iran and Syria.
Their motivation is to be the controling power in the middle east.
The left in this country will say anything to discredit Bush and end this war even if it means defeat.
Their motivation is the same.
Power!
Scott:
You are showing your true colors.
Bill I’ve read this diagnosis “condition white.” Some of it fits me; some of it don’t. But it was very enjoyable reading.
One danger I have not seen mentioned here is how badly the credibility of our intelligence agencys has been shaken in the past few years and how that will affect the likelihood of any warning we receive to be taken seriously.
